"I can't wait," she says
The big surprise that I had planned for Nadine's birthday was almost ruined. She has been going on for months (since June) about what she really, really wanted for her birthday. She wanted the "Spooky Town" village by Lemax that they sell at Michael's. I told her that it was just too expensive and that we would wait until it went on sale after Halloween and have it for next year. Well, I broke down and bought it for her about 3 weeks ago when I say it go on sale for 30% off. I had to drive around to 3 different stores in the area to get all the pieces, but I did it for my JAP (Jamaican American Princess). Well, I hid the fact that I bought it very well even playing up the fact that it was too much money to be spending on such things right now. Unfortunately she was in such a panic tonight that we had to make a late night run to Michael's to buy the stuff, because she found out that it is 50% off this week, however, I knew that they were sold out of all the things she wanted. So after we went to the store and she almost had a complete emotional break down (not a good thing for a pregnant lady to have) we took a detour to her mom's house where I had stashed the gifts. She was surprised, although it didn't turn out the way I wanted and she opened her gifts 2 days early. I must admit that she spoiled my surprise a little bit, but I am happy that she is pleased and (at least after being traumatized) pleasantly surprised. At the end of the day, disaster averted.

She's almost 34 weeks!
I am so excited to have my baby girls born soon. I know that it will be a big change in my life, not only will I have so many more things to do (I know, I know I am sure I have no idea how many more), but I will be totally outnumbered by girls in my house. I really don't think I would have it any other way. I feel so blessed to have them in my life. I know that my priorities will dramatically change and continue to change and orient themselves toward my girls. Nadine has already helped me the last three years in that respect. I love her so much and love her more every day. She is beautiful inside and out. Tomorrow is 34 weeks of pregnancy. We are thrilled because that is a landmark day for the babies’ development. When Nadine was having pre-term labor at 29 weeks, 34 weeks was the goal that the neonatalogist gave us. We want the girls to stay in as long as possible, but the would be OK to come now if necessary. I think it would be fun to have them born on or around my birthday, November 10th. That day is 36 weeks which is also when the doctor told Nadine to stop the medication for the contractions so maybe they'll be born my birthday and share a birthday with their daddy. All I can say now is that I am so excited (and scared) for the great adventure that awaits us.
